Urs Widmer

Urs Widmer has been a member of the Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange since December 2012. He is responsible for the area of Business & Market Development. In this function, he is in charge of Business Engineering and Issuer Relations, as well as the departments Market Structure, Corporate Development & Strategy and the Project Portfolio Management. Before joining SIX Swiss Exchange, Urs Widmer had been a member of the Executive Board at AXA Winterthur since 2007 and CEO of AXA Bank in Switzerland, where he was responsible for developing, managing, selling and closing AXA Bank. During his over five years at UBS, he was responsible for the Financial Planning Life Insurance Sales department and before that, the Products & Services for Financial Intermediaries area. After completing his studies, Urs Widmer began his professional career at McKinsey & Company, where he spent four years working on and leading a number of national and international projects in the area of Financial Services and Transportation. He has a university degree in Business Management and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau.
