Pasi joined Vanguard in January 2012, and is responsible for the European Fixed Income Index team. Prior to joining Vanguard, he worked as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at State Street Global Advisors and Danske Capital. He has over 10 years’ experience in the investment management industry and has an MSc (Econ.) from Helsinki School of Economics where he majored in Finance. Pasi is also a CFA charterholder.

What should the dealer of the future have the skills of?
Should dealers have an active view on the decision making process, or should their role be solely execution?
Should PMs be interacting directly with the street, or should they place more trust in the traders?
In the future should there be a definite segregation of duties between the PM and the trader, or should this depend on the individual and their abilities?
Will there be a need for dealers to be more educated on how to identify market trends, or will this be a duty that is left with the PM?
